Eric Rome, President at A Plus Carpet & Flooring

Eric Rome never intended to run a flooring store. On a whim, he bought some flooring equipment from a friend who no longer needed it. He was going to do flooring work to pass the time before he got his real estate license, but it wasn’t meant to be. In just one year, the carpeting business Eric ran out of the old farmhouse where he grew up had grown into a full-fledged company with 10 employees. Today, A Plus Carpet & Flooring is one of the top flooring companies in the area. Eric’s father was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force, but it was Eric’s personal connection to Bob and Ronna that finally convinced him to participate in the program. Eric wanted to support veterans, and, ultimately, he felt that the VFBMD was the right way to show his appreciation. “You have to give back to the community. These people put their lives on the line for us,” Eric says.
